DJ Jazzy Jeff breaks down the interesting 15-year relationship between Eminem, Will Smith and him.

In the first single to Eminem’s sophomore major label album, “The Real Slim Shady,” the emcee famously began the second verse, “Will Smith doesn’t have to cuss to sell records / Well, I do / So fuck him. And fuck you too.” While the lyrics were a response to a Grammy speech Smith made at the 1998 Grammy Awards where the emcee-turned-actor bemoaned cursing and Gangsta Rap, there may be more to it.

DJ Jazzy Jeff revealed that the After Earth star gave Eminem some blunt feedback in the late 1990s, prior to Eminem’s signing with Dr. Dre and Aftermath Entertainment. “I was a big fan of Eminem’s—you know, especially of his super early stuff,” explained the West Philly native, likely referring to Em’s 1996 self-released Infinite album and subsequent string of freestyles. “I just kinda reached out to him, ‘Yo man, big fan. Would love to do some stuff.’ And he ended up comin’ to Philly and we went in the studio, and just knocked out some stuff. It was crazy, because that was one of the times that Will [Smith] was in town. Will walked into the room, and I think I played Will ‘Just The Two Of Us.’” The 1997 song would appear on The Slim Shady EP, believed to be interpolating the Will Smith Big Willie Style song of the same name. “Will listened to it, and Will looked at him and said, ‘You’re either gonna be the biggest flop in Hip Hop, or you’re gonna be the biggest thing that we’ve ever seen in Hip Hop. And [Eminem] never forgot that.”

Eminem and Eight Mile Style LLC are suing Facebook due to what they believe was the social networking site’s unlawful use of the Eminem and D12 record “Under The Influence.”

The popular social networking site Facebook has been hit with a lawsuit from Eminem and his publishing company Eight Mile Style LLC due to what is believed to be the unlawful use of the Detroit rapper and D12’s collaboration “Under The Influence.”

According to AllHipHop.com, the lawsuit states that Facebook posted a Wieden + Kennedy ad, which promoted their new Facebook Home app and in the ad the music used is believed to be “Under The Influence.” An altered version of the ad was then released, but according to the lawsuit the edit was then taken as Facebook’s acknowledgement of the unapproved use of Eminem and D12’s song.

“The alteration of the Airplane advertisement was an admission that Facebook knew it had infringed on the Eminem/D12 Composition,” states the lawsuit.

Ironically, Eminem’s lawsuit states that Facebook and Wieden + Kennedy’s response to the cease and desist order, which was initially placed, called out Dr. Dre although the mega-producer did not produce or have any involvement with “Under The Influence.”

“Counsel falsely and wrongfully alleged that Andre Young, professionally known as Dr. Dre, composed ‘Under the Influence,’” read the lawsuit. “Yet, a simple Internet search of the Eminem/D12 Composition would have revealed that ‘Under the Influence’ was composed by Marshall Mathers, III, and members of D12, including Denaun Porter, Von Carlisle, Ondre Moore, R. Arthur Johnson, and DeShaun Holton. Dr. Dre likewise did not produce ‘Under the Influence.’”

At this time, Eminem and Eight Mile Style LLC are suing Facebook and the company that created the ad for $150,000 per infringement.

Arrests have been made in Michael Shabazz’s murder, two waiters who worked at the bar where the murder took place have been charged.

Two men have been arrested for the murder of Malcolm X’s grandson Michael Shabazz. Shabazz was killed in Mexico City last week after being beaten to death. More details on his murder have emerged and according to the New York Times, the senseless murder was over an “excessive bill.”

NY Times reports:

The men taken into custody, David Hernández Cruz and Manuel Alejandro Pérez de Jesús, worked as waiters at the Palace Club, a downtown bar where Mr. Shabazz, 28, was beaten, in what the city prosecutor called a dispute over an excessive bill.

Two other bar employees who the authorities said participated in the beating, which left Mr. Shabazz with fatal skull, jaw and rib fractures, were being sought.

The body of Mr. Shabazz, who for years had wrestled with living in the shadow of his grandfather’s fame, was still at a city morgue on Monday while American consular officials worked to have it returned to the United States. A family spokeswoman said they would have no comment, and no funeral plans have been announced.

Police are looking for two more suspects and details about the bar where the murder took place are sketchy. Times reported it was used as both a bar and brothel. Shabazz was there with another man named Miguel Suarez and racked up a $1,200 bill. Shabazz went to Mexico City to meet up with Suarez, who was deported from the Unites States. Suarez was also robbed but somehow escape from harm.

It is finally here, “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe” video by Kendrick Lamar with comedic guest Mike Epps.

Kendrick Lamar is still killing the game from his 2012 debut album M.A.D.D. city album. Now we have a video to enjoy from the hit song “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe.”

KDot goes to church paying tribute to his fallen friend in the video and stands by an all-white casket throughout the video. Mike Epps conducts a baptism and the words “Death to Molly” flash at the end of the video. Interesting, can we expect the remix video from Jay-Z or Lady GaGa? Well, don’t ponder on that thought for too long and enjoy the video below.

Gucci Mane is not going out without a fight, pleads not guilty to assault charges he racked up from a previous club altercation.

TMZ reports:

Gucci Mane just pled NOT GUILTY to aggravated assault in Atlanta for allegedly bashing a U.S. soldier over the head with a champagne bottle.

Gucci (real name Radric Davis) allegedly bottled the Afghanistan vet back in March in an Atlanta nightclub … the man said he approached the rapper’s security to ask about getting a photograph when he was attacked, leaving a huge gash on his dome.

Mane was indicted April 9, arrested four days later and went to jail for nearly three weeks before being released on bond May 2nd.

Can’t wait to hear the clever excuse Gucci Mane has up his sleeve. This shall be good!
